Swaddlebees hemp multi size nappy - pocket version |
A quick drying, well designed hemp nappy. Hemp is a naturally organic, very absorbent material meaning you need less bulk compared to cotton for the same absorbency.
The outside of the nappy is flat woven hemp French terry whilst the inside is beautifully soft organic cotton velour. These two layers are sewn together to form a pocket into which you place your choice of insert. Popper fastening - with poppers on both the legs and waist giving you great adjustability.
Most hemp nappies on the market are quite heavy, and very inflexible. This nappy is light weight, slim, soft, flexible and brilliantly absorbent.
Hard water areas - The outside hemp will harden a little unless you finish it off in a tumble dryer, but the organic velour inside the nappy will stay soft next to your baby's skin.
Extras needed
An absorbent pad to go inside the pocket. Our advice would be to use an organic hemp booster which is very slim, provides brilliant absorbency and dries reasonably quickly. You will be able to use the same hemp insert for each size of nappy. Alternatively use a micro terry insert for a very quick drying polyester option.
Need wraps to go on the outside - any of the wraps we sell will work brilliantly.
Best to also use a separate liner to aid easy disposal of soiling and protect the nappy from stains. For maximum dryness and softness use a fleece liner.
Using on a newborn - Initially the pocket on it's own should be enough and will give a lovely slim fit. Add an insert to the pocket when you need to. You will be able to move straight from the small to the large; the sizing for the medium overlaps both the small and the large. |
